How We Give Back

Community Donations

One of our core values is giving back to our community. Whether it’s through donating complete garments or passing on scrap fabrics that can be used rather than sent to a landfill, we are committed to working with partners in our community. Some organizations we have supported in this way include:

  • Warden Woods Community Program

  • COSTI – Immigration Services

  • Newcomer Women’s Services of Toronto

  • Afghan Refugee Program

  • Daily Bread Food Bank

  • Scarborough Animal Shelter

Some Heartwarming Examples

Here are some of the specific ways in which we have been able to support local community groups while also ensuring as little fabric reaches the landfills as possible.

Scouts Blanket Donations
  • When we received colour-damaged fabric that was still in excellent condition, just not suitable for use by our customers, we donated it to the 1st Highland Creek Scout Group. They used this fabric, along with some discontinued thread we were also able to donate, to make fleece blankets as part of camping activities.

Martial Arts Dummies
  • In 2020, we provided enough scrap fabric to fill and create 65 martial arts dummies. Not only did this keep this fabric out of landfills, but it also helped the martial arts school create enough dummies to continue their classes during the pandemic by aligning to new public health guidelines and social distancing.
